Silence of the eerie night,
Is broken by a lone lover’s plight.
As she sings her woes aloud,
There is not a single listening in the crowd.
Cursed is she ever to brood,
In dismay over her lost love.
Now all alone there she stood,
Forgetting the days when she flew like a dove.
When she was with him under the star lit sky,
She did have dreams of a happy life.
The poor lass was deceived by the rogue’s lie,
For he used her as a doll before marrying his rich wife.
Ah woe is her, for she has strayed,
From wisdom, as she was betrayed.
Forgotten she has, that God did listen,
Not to the rogue who did treason,
But to the prayers of her future partner,
Whose love for her is like a garden and its gardener.
